Information and Frequently Asked Questions

Visitors must follow all facility rules while visiting. Failure to obey the rules will result in the loss of the privilege to enter the facility. All visitors must be properly dressed. No see through clothing or gang affiliated colors are permitted. Visitors must have proper identification before entering the jail. Minors may visit relatives in the Jail when accompanied by a parent or guardian who is at least 18 years old. Visiting hours vary. Each inmate has 30 minutes twice per week on Wednesdays and Sundays assigned to him/her. Call the Loudon County Jail for more information and specific schedules.

The Loudon County Jail does not accept incoming telephone calls for the inmates. Each Cell Block has a telephone for the inmates to use during daylight hours. Only out-going calls can be made on the phones, and there is a slight charge to the person accepting the call from the inmate.

Bail is the amount of money the court requires the arrested individual to deposit with the court to assure the court that the arrestee will return to court as scheduled. There are several ways to post bail. The arrestee may make a cash bond in the full amount. This money is refunded when the case is concluded. The arrestee may use a professional bondsman. This requires only a percentage of the bail amount be paid to the bondsman. This money is non-refundable. The arrestee may make a Property Bond by securing the court appearance with real property. This most often requires a Deed of Trust. This bond must be made through the Criminal Court Clerks Office.

Inmates may receive mail at the Loudon County Jail. All incoming mail to the inmates is searched for contraband. ANY MAIL CONTAINING ILLEGAL MATERIALS WILL NOT BE DELIVERED TO THE INMATE. The jail will not accept mail with postage due. The address for sending mail to an inmate is:
