Sean Giles

My name is Sean Giles and I have lived in Loudon County for the past 25 years and graduated from Lenoir City High School.  After serving in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer, I retuned to Loudon County.  I have been married to my wife Julie for 20 years.  We are the proud parents of two children:  Alexis is 17 years old and a Senior at Loudon High School, Hunter is 11 and in the sixth grade at Philadelphia Elementary.  My parents are Ralph and Gipsy Giles of Lenoir City.  My grandparents were the late Mohlar and Lucille Giles and the late Stanley and Inez Phillips, all who were lifelong residents of Loudon County.  I attend Fellowship Baptist Church in Lenoir City.   I am employed with Superior Pavement Marking.

The reason I chose to run for this office is that I believe I have the ability and knowledge to offer fresh ideas to Loudon County and the ability to maintain and continue to improve our present road system.  I have worked with TDOT for the last 18 years on different projects including paving, signing, guardrail, and traffic markings all over East Tennessee.  I have also been involved in different maintenance projects and new construction of different state routes in Tennessee.  I am certain my knowledge and work experience will be applicable to the position I am running for.

I believe the most pressing problem that faces Loudon County today is the rate of growth in population. This in turn, affects all aspects of government, including our present road system and it's ability to handle and support the increase in traffic, which use these roads on a daily basis.  I am not certain how to solve some of these issues, but I do propose to listen to the public's opinion and work diligently to solve what I can within the criteria of our present budget.

I want to thank all Loudon Countians who voted in the May Republican primary election, and for the 5,248 complimentary votes.  I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the polls and hopefully serving you as Superintendent of Roads.
